Your article is correct and I do agree that it must be nearly impossible to operate a business without a web site nowdays.
However, I do think that having a website is a waste of money if it cannot be found. I have built a website (still under development) over the past 3 months but find it impossible to get any sales as of yet. I also list some of my products on Ebay and get sales okay. This gives me the confidence in my products.
Nobody seems to tell us, until you have got a site, that unless you spend a lot of money, your site will not be found easily. You can try the social media route and get visitors but I am no convinced these are potential customers.
I for one, would welcome more sound advise for the novice, in how to get your site listed properly and proof that it can be done. If anyone want to use my site as an example that it can be done then please contact me.
keep up the great articles.

I don't think it matters how talented the web designer is. If the client cannot communicate his requirements to the designer properly, or the designer can't firmly grasp what the client needs, the designer will not be able to use his talents to their fullest. When I say 'communicate', I mean how to translate the ideas in your mind into terms the designer can understand.
